Hellish Holidays New Years Contest

Tell us about your most hellish New Year’s Eve, whether from the distant past or right about now. Was it a crippling snowstorm, a big fight, a disappointing party or--worst of all--kissing the wrong person at midnight?

You can submit video, a photo with a caption, or a text-only story (250 words maximum). Get creative! We want all the gory details!

The winner receives the fabulous Pure Digital point-and-shoot video camcorder. This will make submitting your hellish videos even easier, with a pop-out USB connector that plugs right into your computer!

Here’s how to enter:

1. Send us an email to contest@hellishholidays.com. Tell us:

What you will be submitting (video, photo or text-only story) with its title. If a story, see #4 below.
Your name
Your birthdate (must be over 18)
Your street address
Your email address

We promise we'll never share your information with any unauthorized third party.

2. If you are submitting a video, click the Submit button at the top of the page. Then browse your computer to find the clip, or enter the URL if your video is already uploaded on YouTube, Google Video, Yahoo Video, Revver or Blip.tv. If it’s on another site, you will need to upload it from your computer. Be sure to write a caption (100 words maximum) to accompany your video so our judges know what made it such a hellish New Year’s Eve. Please note that you can only submit videos to which you own the rights.

3. If you are submitting a photograph, click the Submit button at the top of the page. Under Post to Hellish Holidays, click Picture. Then browse your computer to find the photo and upload it. Be sure to write a caption (100 words maximum) to accompany the photo so our judges know what made it such a hellish New Year’s Eve. Please note that you can only submit photos to which you own the rights.

4. If you are submitting a text-only story, you can include it in the email you send (See Step 1). There is a 250-word limit, so please be concise in your description of what made your particular New Year’s Eve so hellish. Submissions will be posted in the Blog section of the site.

A few rules:

This contest is open only to legal U.S. residents ages 18 and up. All entries become the property of Life Version Two LLC, and by submitting an entry you are confirming that you own the rights to the material submitted.

Enter as many times as you like.

Deadline for submissions is January 15, 2007 (Pacific Standard Time).

Video and photo submissions must be made via www.hellishholidays.com only; videos and photos submitted by email or postal mail will not be accepted. Text-only stories may be submitted via email to contest@hellishholidays.com.

We reserve the right to reject any submission. No adult content will be accepted.

Judging will be done by the Hellish Holidays team. The decision of the judges will be final.

Winners will be announced on the Hellish Holidays website by January 31, 2007.
